Mr. Cummings is the Entrepreneur-in-Residence and an instructor in the College of Engineering at UC Santa Barbara. He has founded or co-founded several technology-driven start-up companies, including one that executed a multi-billion dollar IPO and one that was acquired for ~$650 million. Mr. Cummings’ areas of technical expertise include advanced energy conversion technologies, electronic vision systems, and advanced sensor concepts. 

Mr. Cummings has served as a Trustee of both the UC Santa Barbara Foundation and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. He serves on the advisory boards of the Eco-Entrepreneurship Advisory Council and the Technology Management Program at UC Santa Barbara, is a member of Tech Coast Angels investment group, and is Chairman of the Central Coast chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum. Mr. Cummings holds nuclear engineering degrees from UC Santa Barbara and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
