Medical Microbiology from the University of California, Davis
Guest Lecturer, TMP Mentor
Dr. Altrock has a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from the University of California, Davis. Currently he advises companies and individuals in the biopharmaceutical area regarding the research and development interface. His work has included the evaluation of discovery programs, development strategies, market potential, strategic partnerships and related topics. Bruce is an Adjunct Professor in the Biomolecular Science and Engineering Program at UCSB. He retired from Amgen, Inc. in 1999 as Vice President, Research. There his responsibilities included; Immunology, Stem Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Pathology, Toxicology, Pharmacokinetics, Protein Chemistry, Protein Structure, Molecular Structure and Design, Product Licensing and Product Development. In addition he played a leadership role in a number of significant collaborations with academic and commercial organizations. He is on the Board of Directors of the Center for Genomic Pathology.
