Karen Smith Bogart is President of Pacific Tributes, Inc., a start-up firm located in Santa Barbara, California. She also consults with firms regarding business growth or turn-around, marketing, commercialization and organizational effectiveness. She advises firms regarding prospective investments in Asia, China and the US. She teaches at the University of California at Santa Barbara.
She co-founded Peaceful Tributes to provide internet-based large-format printing services to select market segments. During 2007, she also was the President of TESS Skincare Inc. which markets naturally based skin care solutions to teen girls. She aggressively restructured the firm’s business model, operations, and related funding.
Prior to her move to Santa Barbara in 2006, Karen was a Senior Vice President of Eastman Kodak Company. She was the Chairman and President of Greater Asia, located in Shanghai, China. She was responsible for Kodak’s businesses and operations across Asia. Previously, she managed many of Kodak’s largest global businesses in the consumer, professional and health markets. She held significant positions in General Management, Marketing, Product Innovation and Management, as well as in Human Resources. She built global alliances in product innovation, development, manufacturing, customer and channel development, particularly in Asia.
Karen has been recognized nationally for her business successes, change management, leadership achievement, and people development.
She is a Director of Monolithic Power Systems (MPWR); a NASDAQ listed company, which develops, manufactures and markets analog and mixed-power semiconductors and ZBE inc., a private firm that develops, manufactures and markets professional digital imaging printers.
She is Co-Vice Chairperson of Women's Economic Ventures, a not-for-profit organization aimed at achieving economic empowerment of women.
She holds a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo; a Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University; and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Rochester.
