International Technology Marketing Executive
Desiree de la Fuente-van Baal has over ten years of product development experience. Graduated with a master’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering, she began her career as an industrial designer and moved from there into the area of product management. She held several senior marketing and product management positions at Philips Electronics. She is experienced in leading the product development process from idea generation all the way to production and product marketing. She is a trained facilitator in the consumer insight generation process that major electronics & FMCG companies use as a starting point for their product development. Currently she teaches Product Development at UCSB Extension. And she is a counselor at SCORE, a resource partner with the US Small Business Administration, where she provides advice to local start ups & small businesses. Her experience is truly global, having worked in the USA, Asia and Europe, and being responsible for products that are being bought and used by consumers all over the world.
