and feedback we received from presenting in TMP classes.
Applying TMP's curriculum to a non-academic, national competition
has been a huge validation for us." ~ Green Pieces |
Max DuBuisson of Green Pieces discusses his company's
plan to build green modular homes
Green Pieces addresses the huge growth in green building by offering attractive sustainable modular homes that are healthier and more affordable than current options.
This is the first group project to be developed as a collaboration
between the Technology Management Program and the Donald Bren School of
Environmental Science and Management at UCSB. The student members are
taking classes through both programs to meet the requirements of the new
Eco-Entrepreneurship specialization.
They will be developing a business plan along with an established
architecture and design firm that is interested in creating a new
business to design and manufacture sustainable modular homes. The
research will be informed by our environmental expertise gained through
the Bren School, as well our skills in handling the creation of a new
venture, gained through the Technology Management Program.
The ultimate goal is to bring to market new modular homes that are both
sustainable and affordable.
